Workshopname " KIKO" is a combination of my first and last name: Kitty Korver. I was born in De Bilt, in 1969. After working as a ceramist for 7 years (we are now settled in the quiet village of Nagele in the new won land of the province of Flevoland) in 2008, I was forced to switch material due to a handicap. Working with clay had become just too heavy for me. After a year of searching I chose texiles as being lighter to work with. Mostly soft and colorful, forming a complete contrast with the shades of grey in which I often worked in my ceramic past. The shapes, however, remain quite similar . A new start at a leisurely pace. Sometimes I use unconventional materials and workingmethods. I work towards a desired final idea. I keep only surprises that make the image stronger . For me the charm of being an artist is not only making, but also sharing of the passion for art with your collegues, exhibiting and selling work. I currently work mostly in felt, as shown here ,amongst others: Scales of felt.
